Amanda, Licensed Esthetician

"I’ve been interested in skin care since I was a teenager struggling with bad skin. One trip to a dermatologist changed my skin and my life. My interest in good skin care and its benefits on well-being and happiness blossomed. I earned an aesthetician license in 2010. Shortly thereafter I developed and co-owned a day spa in Arizona with a focus on repairing sun damaged skin. During that time, I began to research and focus on ingredients and how they impact the skin. After relocating to the Big Island, I created Paper Crane Soaps with the goal of using the many beautiful botanicals, fruits and fragrant herbs of our Islands in each bar."

Our mission is “Smell Good, Feel Good, Do Good”:

  • Smell Good: We use the finest essential oil blends, plant powders and herbs from the Islands to create a healthful, loving and scented reminder of this paradise.
  • Feel Good: All our soaps and other skincare products are carefully and personally handcrafted to the highest quality control standards. Many contain organically grown ingredients from our farm in the Kona District of the Big Island. Our avocados, papaya and mangos and guava are amazing.
  • Do Good: We support our community by purchasing ingredients locally. Additionally, we donate products, time and a part of our profits to Big Island charities.

Amanda shares the beauty and magic of the Hawaiian Islands. Her spare time is spent at the beach with her family, adventuring around the Island and brainstorming the next beautiful bar of soap.
